Robert Callender's work was concerned with the sea. The Coastal Collection was an exhibition featuring an evolving assemblage of beach combed objects from the shores around Scotland. This fascinating work comprised of approximately 500 objects, carefully constructed from paper, card and glue then distressed and manipulated into these timeless relics, discarded, forgotten or lost by their owners.
Robert Callender described the collection as "a kind of beach combing combining the influences of past finds along with objects culled from my memory and imagination."
In 2000 Peacock hosted the exhibtion and this screenprint was specially editioned for it.
