Own Art - Key Information

This page contains important information about the Own Art scheme. Please make sure that you have read this through carefully before continuing with your enquiry, whether in person or online.

Own Art is a publicly funded scheme, available through a network of participating member galleries across the UK. You can use Own Art to help finance the purchase of a wide range of works of art and craft, including ceramics, jewellery, paintings, photography, prints, and sculpture. Spread the cost of your purchase over ten months, completely interest free. No deposit necessary. Use the gallery finder on the Own Art site to search for the kind of work you are most interested in.

 

Important information about the Own Art finance offer

Own Art is available to all UK residents over the age of 18, subject to status. This means that you must be able to meet one of the following criteria in order to be approved for a loan:

  • Working at least 16 hours a week (employed or self-employed)
  • A retired person in receipt of a pension
  • If you are not working but are married to or living with a partner who does meet the above criteria, then you may still apply, provided that your partner is happy for their employment details to be included on your application form

If you apply to collect your Own Art order when it's ready, then you'll need to be prepared with the following to show our gallery team:

  • The e-mail confirmation of your order, goods dispatched or collection e-mail
  • A valid for of photographic identification (Driving Licence or Passport) in the same name as the order being collected
  • The payment card on which the deposit was taken, which must be in your name
  • Proof of your UK residency

 

What you need to apply

You must be over 18 and a UK resident to apply. Credit is subject to status and affordability. Terms and conditions apply.

Credit is provided by Novuna Consumer Finance, a trading name of Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority with firm reference number 704348. There are consequences for missed payments such as fixed late fees and an adverse impact on your credit file. Finance options vary by participating Own Art member.
