Alexander Moffat: Hugh MacDiarmid

In 1988 a group of artists were invited to make a print in response to Hugh MacDiarmid's great poem "On a Raised Beach". This group included John Bellany, Erlend Brown, Alexander Moffat, Will McLean, Ian McKenzie Smith, Frances Walker, Sylvia Wishart and Ainsley Yule. All the prints were subsequentally editioned at the time except for the ones by Alexander Moffat, Sylvia Wishart and Ainsley Yule. The Alexander Moffat print was finally editioned in 2014 as part of XL // Peacock Visual Arts at 40. The prints were first shown at the Richard Demarco Gallery during the Edinburgh Festival in 1988.
