The site of the new Ayr hospital is set inland amidst the green rolling South Ayrshire landscape allowing fine wide sweeping panoramic vistas culminating in glimpses of the coast and sea. Because of the familiarity of that coast to South Ayrshire residents from early childhood onwards, I felt these 'Coastal Glimpses' could provide a calm contemplative and appropriate series of simple images for the possibly apprehensive 'pre-op' patients in the Day Surgery Unit - almost like a walk through well kent and loved terrain - re. the Walker and dogs on Ayr Beach - in 'Coastal Glimpses' 1 and 2.
