Graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in 2003, Elaine continued to practice as a printmaker until 2008 when her focus shifted to running her own art gallery, Junction arts in Aberdeen. After 11 years in 2019, she made the huge decision to return to focusing on her own creativity, closing the premises but keeping the business name. She now works from her home studio based in the North-East of Scotland.
Elaine's passion is drawing and printmaking, she creates work that she hopes makes people smile and evokes a memory or feeling; she loves bright and bold colour and uses this to bring her linear drawings or photos of everyday objects and landscapes to life. As a printmaker, she mainly works with silkscreen and risograph printing techniques. This perfectly suits her illustrative style of work.
