Famed co-conspirator of Hunter S. Thompson, Steadman’s work shares several key personality traits: a troubled relationship with sanity, an anarchic sense of humour, and at its core an unquestionable integrity. Steadman’s wry illustrations are both entirely surreal and endearingly honest.
Made during a long residency stay with Peacock Visual Arts in the 90's this etching formed part of a larger suite that recognised writers of influence to Ralph. Amongst them Burns, Burroughs, Proust and Woolf.
The plate and the HC were produced in 1993 and the full edition was published later in 1995.
